About the guides
Is Jobularity free to use?
Yes. Every guide on the site is free to read, with no account, paywall, or email signup required. The site is funded by advertising and by the job board, which is explained further down this page.
Who writes the guides?
A small editorial team. Guides carry a byline, and you can read about the writers on our about page. Every guide is edited before publication for accuracy and for claims that outrun the evidence.
Are the guides written by AI?
No. Our guides are researched, written, and edited by people, and a person is accountable for every claim in them. We use software for ordinary production work — spellcheck, formatting, keyword research — as any publisher does. We do not publish machine-generated articles under a human byline. See our editorial policy.
Does your advice apply to my country?
Partly. Core principles — showing impact rather than duties, structuring an interview answer, researching pay before naming a number — travel well. Conventions do not. Resume length, whether a photo is expected, how directly salary is discussed, and what an employer may legally ask all vary by country and sector. Where a guide is written around one market’s norms, we say so in the guide.
I think one of your guides is wrong. What now?
Tell us. Send the guide title and the specific line you believe is inaccurate through the contact page. If you are right, we correct the guide rather than quietly deleting it, and we note significant corrections at the foot of the page.
Can I republish a guide on my site?
Not in full. You are welcome to quote a short extract with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. For anything more, ask us first. The detail is in section 8 of our terms.
Will you review my resume or advise on my offer?
No — we are not able to give individual advice on a specific resume, offer, contract, or visa situation. We write general guidance for a general audience. Where a decision genuinely matters, speak to someone qualified who knows your circumstances.
About the job board
How do I apply for a job listed here?
Open the listing and follow the application method the employer chose. Depending on the role, that means applying through the site, emailing the employer, or continuing on the employer’s own careers system. You will need a Jobularity candidate account only where the employer accepts applications through the site.
Do you verify the employers who post jobs?
We take reasonable steps to keep obviously fraudulent listings off the board and we remove anything reported to us that turns out to be a scam. We do not independently verify every vacancy, salary figure, or claim in a listing. Treat job advertisements here with the same judgement you would anywhere else.
How do I spot a fake job listing?
The reliable signals are financial and documentary. A genuine employer does not ask you to pay a fee to apply, to buy equipment or training before you start, to receive and forward money, or to hand over identity documents and bank details before a written offer. Ask for a company domain email address, and check the company exists independently of the listing. If a listing on our board does any of these things, report it and we will take it down.
Why are there not many jobs on the board yet?
Because we would rather it grow slowly with genuine openings than look busy with listings recycled from other sites. The board is newer than the guide library and we are adding to it deliberately.
I am an employer. How do I post a role?
Start at the post a job page. You will need an employer account. Listings must be genuine vacancies you are authorised to advertise, and must comply with employment and anti-discrimination law where the role is based — section 6 of our terms sets out the rules.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes. Candidate and employer accounts can be deleted from your dashboard, and deleting the account removes the profile data attached to it. Note that if you already applied to a role, the employer holds that application under their own retention policy, which we do not control. See our privacy policy.
About the site
How does Jobularity make money?
Two ways: advertising shown alongside our content, and the job board, where employers may pay to post or promote a listing. Neither buys editorial coverage. We do not take payment to recommend a tool or service, and any sponsored content would be labelled clearly as such.
Do advertisers influence what you publish?
No. Ads on our pages are served by an advertising network, not sold by us to specific companies, and we do not know in advance which ads will appear next to a guide. An employer paying to post a job does not get a mention in our editorial coverage.
What data do you collect about me?
For an ordinary reader: standard server logs, analytics about which pages are read, and advertising cookies. If you contact us, register an account, or subscribe to the newsletter, we collect what you give us for that purpose. How do I contact a human?
Through the contact page. We aim to reply within two to three working days.
