This policy explains what information Jobularity collects when you use jobularity.com, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, ask us through the contact page.

Who we are

Jobularity operates the website at jobularity.com, which publishes career guides and runs a job board. For the purposes of data protection law, Jobularity is the data controller for personal information collected through this site. You can reach us about any privacy matter through our contact page.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form submissions. When you message us, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you enter, so we can reply.
  • Job board accounts. If you register as a candidate or an employer, we collect the account details you provide — email address, password (stored encrypted), and any profile information, company details, job listings, or CV files you choose to upload.
  • Job applications. If you apply to a listing through the site, the information in your application, including any CV you attach, is sent to the employer who posted that role.
  • Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address in order to send you the emails you asked for.
  • Payments. If an employer buys a job posting package, payment details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our host records standard technical information for every request: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Used for essential site functions, to measure how the site is used, and to serve advertising. See the cookies section below.

Cookies and advertising

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Jobularity uses them in three broad ways.

Essential cookies

These make the site work: keeping you logged in to a job board account, remembering items during checkout for a job posting package, and security functions. The site cannot operate properly without them.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which guides people read, how they arrive, and where the site is failing them. This tells us which pages to improve. Analytics data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individual readers.

Advertising cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Third-party advertising vendors and ad networks may serve ads on this site and may themselves use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertising. We do not control these third-party cookies, and this privacy policy does not cover their practices. You should review the privacy policies of those vendors directly.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you refuse cookies entirely or accept them selectively. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the job board, including logging in.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Employers, when you apply to their listing — they receive the application and CV you submitted to them.
  • Service providers who operate parts of the site on our behalf: our web host, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing. They may only use the data to provide that service to us.
  • Advertising partners, in the form of the advertising identifiers and cookie data described above.
  • Where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or to prevent fraud and abuse.

Some of these providers operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference, then deleted.
  • Job board accounts: kept while the account is active. Delete your account and the profile data goes with it.
  • Applications and CVs: retained by the employer you applied to under their own policy, which we do not control.
  • Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data deleted.
  • Object to or restrict how we use it.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Complain to your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, contact us through the contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time limits the law sets.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, account passwords are stored using one-way encryption, and access to the systems that hold personal data is restricted. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold.

Children

Jobularity is intended for adults in the workforce or entering it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our guides and job listings link to other websites, including employers’ own application systems. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies before giving them your information.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
